This model and Operating System is not supported by Dell.

Hardware Upgrades

Its recommended to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM:

Check what form factor you have before upgrading.

Video Card

In addition to upgrade the video card:

Windows OS

Windows 7 and 8.1 are now obsolete if you have these Operating Systems you should use them to take the Free Upgrade to Windows 10.

If you don’t have a Windows 7/8.1 license you have until the 2nd of October 2015 to upgrade to Windows 10 for free using the Windows 10 Insider 10130 as a stepping stone. See Free Upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 10 (also works with Windows XP).

Most of these systems won’t have a modem.



Follow instructions here for using the Microsoft Update Catalog then follow instructions here for driver installation via the device manager.

Card Reader

Dell Media Card Reader with Integrated Bluetooth Module (CAB-200), Media Card
Reader 19-1 with Integrated Bluetooth*

Not all units have a card reader.


Dell Backup and Recovery

Note this system won’t be able to boot from a Rescue Disk (external hard drive) so make a Factory Backup (Bootable USB Flash Drive).

  2. Everything in my Dell Optiplex 755 works with Win10, except for the Analog Devices audio.
    I’ve tried several different driver versions; all of those worked with Windows7.
    Anyone more success with Win10, other than installing another soundcard?

      1. I have a dell optiplex 755 and i had changed hard disk of 320 Gb, but i can´t install w7 o w10, when i am trying install the OS, don´t accept the drivers AHCI, i will like if possible than somebody give one image ISO for my pc. Thanks.

      2. Win7 and Win10 are far more up to date than that system and have the SATA preinstallation drivers required inbuilt.
