Moving Google Chromes Bookmarks to a New Windows Installation

I have Google Chrome installed with some Bookmarks created:

Close Chrome.

The Google Chrome Bookmarks are saved in the folder:

Default

Located in:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

If you have a Windows.old folder they will instead be in

C:\Windows.old\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

YourName depends on your user profile and the AppData folder is by default hidden…

%AppData%

into the address bar.

Click App Data to take you up a level. Now go to the Local folder instead:

Select Google:

Then Chrome:

Now User Data:

Close Chrome

Rename Default to Default.old

Paste the folder Default from your external hard drive.

You now have all your Bookmarks:
