Windows 10 Media Creation Tool Updated

The Windows 10 Media Creation Tool:

Has been updated to Redstone 3 – Version 1709 (build 16299.15)

The Media Creation Tool only allows one to select Windows 10 under Edition. However the new installation .iso appears to be multi-Edition including the new Windows 10 S Edition and the European Commission N Editions:

The new Windows 10 S (Secure) only lets you install Apps from the Store. In other words it is limited and you are only allowed to install Apps from the Windows 10 Store.

This is what happens if you try and launch an .exe:

You get this error message:

With the failure of Windows Phone, Microsoft must be desperate to get developers writing Apps for their Store and are using a cheap base Edition of Windows as a ransom for many end users to entice developers to do so.

  1. Hi Philipyip

I have a problem and I would like your opinion. I have switch an hard drive from a laptop. The hard drive had the Windows 7 or 10 operating system, I'm not sure. I put it on another pc that has an Windows 10 Pro activated key, which I got through build 10130. Later I have remove it and put it on another pc. I formatted with a non-windows system. This week I formatted it again and I have installed Windows 10 Pro without any key ( just for fun ). But interestingly the Windows 10 Pro that I installed on the hard drive was activated with a digital licence. And it has the same key as the pc on which it was used previously, although the components are all different. The old has the 1703 build. The new has the 1709 build. Is this normal? Can I have the same key on two different computers at the same time? Why did Windows activate the key if it was already in use on another pc? Can you help me?

P.S. The laptop where the hard drive has come from, is running perfectly well, with another hard drive and key ( windows 10 Home )
