THANK YOU!
Thank you for your Drivers.
Thanks a lot!!!
First of all: Big Thank You!
However, the following two drivers did not work for me:
a) The linked Intel-Video Driver (says something like "Does not meet requirements" or so)
I used the driver from here instead: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23885
b) At least in my notebook I had an Intel 7260 N as WiFi card. I had to use this driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24169&lang=deu&ProdId=3713
Thanks for the feedback, I just pulled these quickly together as I thought Dell would make a Windows 7 set. It seems like they still haven't however.
Can you tell me what Ethernet Controller and what version of Dell Quickset is working for you?
For me the Windows 8 version for ethernet (provided by dell) works.
Thanks I will update the page with this feedback, what about Dell Quickset?
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver, gives blue screens on a fresh windows7 install on a DELL inspiron 15 7537
What SATA operation are you using? Do you have a SSD cache drive?
Does the touch screen and multitouch track pad still work after doing this?
Thanks.
Touchscreens will work better with Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
If installed right you shouldn't lose functionality but given its a touch system I'd advise sticking with Windows 8.1 and not paying for Windows 7. Windows 7 isn't as nice with a touchscreen.
If its because you don't like Windows 8.1 it'd be better to evaluate Windows 10.
Thanks mate, yeah it's pretty much because I don't like windows 8.1 as for windows 10 I pretty sure it's still a beta.
Yeah it is but its getting harder to get a Windows 7 retail license and may not be worthwhile when you have a Windows 8.1 license and touchscreen. Before going through the hassle try the trial installation of both Start8 and ModernMix.
Does the multi touch and touch screen still work? Also will I lose any functionality with any of the systems features?
One more question. Will I lose any functionality with the laptop by downgrading?
