I will have two installations of Windows 10 on the same PC. I will not make any update to Windows 8.1.
I want to stay Insider to view and test the changes. So, I have a SSD and a Microsoft account dedicated for that.
But I also want to have a clean OS. So when the installation key of Windows 10 (full version) will be delivered me (1 September), I will install on another SSD with my Microsoft "official" account.
On my Surface Pro1, I don't know and I have not yet "reserve". My latest tests showed a catastrophic life of the battery. I also read recently that according to Intel, battery life with Windows 10 was reduced by 10%. And on Windows 8.1 Surface is more convincing than Windows 10.
Far beyond the 10% which speaks Intel. I dropped from the build 10130. I know that improvements have been made on this point. But at that time, the life of the battery was 40-60% less than 8.1. I doubt frankly that they can (want?) Fully correct the discrepancy. Especially on a Surface Pro 1…
Definitely! Very impressed with build 10240 – far superior to 8.1. I'm out looking for an 8gb USB for the backup now! I will continue on the Insider program on my test PC but have no concerns about upgrading my main box. Can't wait…
